I can't remember when I originally wrote Beautiful Bones, but the name itself came from someone in a poetry class I took in college. I really liked how the alliteration sounded, and decided to write a song that sounded like those two words. Definitely ended up with something energetic and poppy.

The lyrics are about finding yourself inexplicably drawn to a person. You don't know what it is about them; it might be how they carry themselves, or something in their eyes. You feel so lost by the thought of them, but you don't mind. You're willing to take a chance with this person, no matter how things will play out.
